Nida's Thai and 168 Asian Cuisine
Nida's Thai on High finally opened in the Short North near Zen Cha Tea Salon at 976 North High Street. This is a great addition to the creators of Nida's Sushi and Best of the Wurst in the North Market. Near the North Market in the Hampton in, another restaurant opened near Deepwoods Restaurant. 168 Asian Cuisine is now open and adds another restaurant to the Convention Center area of High Street.
Zpizza opens but BonoToGo Pizza moves
Zpizza has been open for awhile next to Northstar Cafe in Emack & Bolio's old location. They also deliver which is always a nice addition to these cold Ohio nights in the winter. BonoToGo Pizza has decided to move out of the neighborhood and will be opening a location in the Grandview area near Northwest Boulevard and Chambers Road. So while we gain one new pizza location, we loose another.

Columbus Microbrew Festival at North Market
A reminder that tonight and tomorrow is the North Market's Columbus Microbrew Festival featuring local beers from the brewpubs in town and nearby. Representing this area of Ohio will be both Barley's Brewpub locations, Elevator Brewpub, Gordon Biersch Brewery, Hoster Brewing, and Weasel Boy Brewing out of Zanesville, Ohio. There will be bands playing and vintage scooter line up and breakfast for them on Saturday. A good way to try some of the local brews without having to resort to a whole pint, unless you decide you like it after the initial tasting.

Short North Highball Halloween Masquerade
Last night at Skully's, the Short North Business Association revealed details of a new event for Halloween in the Short North. The event will be the Highball Halloween Masquerade on High and will feature many events and abilities for everyone to participate. The event is being headed by Charly Bauer of Jeni's Ice Creams with the help of many members of the business community of the Short North. It will shut down the stretch of High Street between Buttles and Hubbard and feature bands in the Haiku parking lot and other areas. Costumes will be encouraged and even your dogs will be welcome into the action. They have invited local designers to create a runway show much like Project Runway. But they are looking for more help in various areas and more details about the event will be coming forth on the Short North Business Association's site and their new blog started in August, the Short North Blog. Another great event to follow the recent Art al Fresco recently and compliment the return of Via Colori to the neighborhood that is happening this weekend. Edit: the site is now up at Highball Halloween Masquerade.
